Why LIFE Talks

LIFE is an acronym for Living Intentionally For Eternity. The posts here are intended to reflect on aspects of life, intentionality and eternity through the lens of the Protestant Christian Bible.

My highest level of education is an associate of arts degree from a community college. Which is to say that I am not an authority on the Bible or its original languages, so what I write here I offer only as encouragement and perhaps as food for thought. I am simply a student of the Bible, desiring to share what I am learning, questions I am asking and thoughts I am thinking concerning the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit is the “teach(er) of all things1” while others in the Church are called to be “…evangelists, the shepherds and teachers2,” etc. I am none of these things, but like any Christian, I am to be ready to “make a defense to anyone who asks you (me) for a reason for the hope that is in you (me)3” concerning Jesus Christ and his Gospel.

This blog site is my attempt to be obedient to this commandment. As such I have the responsibility to “rightly handling(le) the word of truth4” I will endeavor to do just that utilizing available resources and best practices when it comes to discussing God’s Word. I hope to avoid offering my opinions as to what the Bible is saying rather, I hope to offer the clear meaning of scripture as the Holy Spirit meant it when He inspired the men who wrote it (see 2 Timothy 3:16, 17.)

As a reader of this blog site, you are responsible for doing your due diligence and “test the spirits5” Please do not accept what I say here as the gospel truth. Open and read the scriptures for yourself, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what is true and what is error. God wants his children to know the truth. If you find truth here, thank God for it, if error than thank God that He revealed it to you and discard it.

May you find encouragement in Christ Jesus,

C.T. Reed
